We are very excited to announce that the next FEJS event will be held in Krakow, Poland! So mark the dates on your calendar, because the Annual Congress will be held in May 2025!
General Assembly 2024 in Dortmund
The GA was held between the 17th and 21st of October 2024 in Dortmund, Germany. The topic was “Beyond the Headlines: The Power of Investigative and Slow Journalism”.

Annual Congress 2024 in Helsinki
The Annual Congress 2024 was held in Helsinki, Finland. The event with the topic “Friend or Foe: AI & Cybersecurity in Journalism” was held from the 10th until the 15th of April.
General Assembly 2023 in Marseille
The GA was held between the 18th and 22nd of November 2023 in Marseille, France. The topic was “Trick or Truth: Fact check vs. Fake news”, we discussed factchecking and misinformation.

Annual Congress 2023 in Ljubljana
The first in person FEJS event after the pandemic was the Annual Congress 2023 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The event with the topic “The Fearless Press” was held from the 13th until the 18th of April.

Digital Annual Congress 2021
To stay in touch during the pandemic we held a digital AC Saturday on the 24th of April.
General Assembly 2020 St. Petersburg – online
The General Assembly was held between November 5th and 10th 2020. FEJS members from Russia prepared an interactive online event over Zoom on the topic of Digital Inequality.
Annual Congress 2020 in Ljubljana
The Annual Congress 2020 was scheduled to be in Ljubljana, Slovenia between April 16th and 21st 2020. However, the pandemic made it impossible for us to get together, so we moved some events online.

General Assembly 2017 in Moscow
This years GA in Moscow took place together with the annual EJTA European Journalism Training Association) conference with the topic “Journalism Education Across Boarders”. The General Assembly hosted 35 participants from 11 different delegations – Austria, Belgium, Finland, Germany, Italy, Latvia, The Netherlands, Slovenia, Switzerland, Poland and host country Russia.

General Assembly 2015 in Porto
The GA of 2015 was held between October 8th and 12th in Porto, Portugal. The topic of the General Assembly was The Attitude of European Countries Towards Refugees. During the event, participants discussed and compared the situation of refugees and the attitude towards them in different European countries. During the GA we also voted regarding the Executive board members and locations for next FEJS events.
Annual Congress 2015 in Athens
The AC of 2015 was held between April 16th and 21st in Athens, Greece. The topic of the Congress was Stereotypes, Media Exclusion and Far-right Rhetoric in European Media. Lectures and workshops were held at the Department of Communication and Media of the University of Athens. The programme included both lectures and workshops led by professionals in the relevant fields from all over Europe. The participants came to understand how the dynamics of a minority, political, racial and ethnic have shaped the way European media content is produced and circulated by or because of it. AC hosted around a hundred participants from 19 delegations.
General Assembly 2014 in Vaasa
The GA of 2014 was held between 6th and 10th November in Vaasa, the sunniest city of Finland. We had lectures with the head of communications and journalism department of Åbo Akademi University, freelance journalist Marcus Lillkvist and writer/journalist Viveca Dahl. During the GA we voted about the new Executive board and locations for next FEJS events. We also enjoyed a traditional Finnish student sitting party, some sauna and a visit to the UNESCO Natural heritage site located just outside of the city.
